Alternative consensus mechanism implementation (PoS)
Motivation
Crown proof-of-work mining distribution caused the project many issues in the past including unintentional hard-fork (the report is available here: https://goo.gl/Whjgx4), difficulty jumps, release delays, uncertainty and security issues. Strictly speaking, current distribution makes Crown vulnerable and gives the power to create forks and double-spends to the controlling miner. 
Suggestion
While the Crown consensus layer is still in research stage, PoS looks like a viable solution. It has multiple advantages comparing to PoW, including that network control will be distributed between shareholders.
Though the team is considering to implement non-classic PoS as a first step to the Crown consensus layer implementation.
